The International Petroleum Investment Company and UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation have revealed the new deal to name the Arena at the Zayed Sports City as “IPIC Arena” under a 10-year sponsorship agreement.

The IPIC Arena will host the seventh edition of Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship from the 20th to the 25th of April 2015 with the participation of the UAE national team and elite Jiu-Jitsu stars from around the world. The tournament was a great success last year with more than 2100 participants from 70 countries.

H.E Khadim Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Managing Director of International Petroleum Investment Company said: “We are proud in IPIC to support the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation in its quest to achieve the directives of the leadership to spread Jiu-Jitsu among the youth of the nation and transform Abu Dhabi into the global capital for the sport.”

“The new naming right deal of IPIC Arena for a period of ten years comes as an additional evidence of the long-term strategic partnership we share with the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation,” added Al Qubaisi.

Fahad Al Shamsi, chief executive of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, emphasized on the new agreement with the International Petroleum Investment Company “IPIC”, stressing that the Federation board, chaired by HE Abdel Moneim al-Hashimi and all the members welcomed the move, and appreciate the constructive partnership with IPIC.
“IPIC” is the official partner of the UAEJJF and they continue to play a huge role in the development and promotion of the sport both in locally and internationally, we hope all national companies to follow the path in supporting the sports activities in order to provide a distinctive service UAE youth.” Added Al Shamsi.

Al Shamsi continued: “We at the Federation have a strategy based on the deployment of the game to reach a number of 100 thousand players before 2020, and at the same time we pay great attention to the quality of our players and we aim to have heroes to the international standards. Our partners support is key for us in achieving success on all levels, and we are fortunate to have IPIC as the Federation’s official partner. The UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation has achieved a leap in the sport in a short period of time and proved Abu Dhabi as the world capital of Jiu-Jitsu with an increased number of players reaching 40 thousand practitioners in less than 5 years and it is all thanks to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.

He continued: thanks to effective cooperation, partnerships and the strategic planning, the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation have successfully added Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championships to the agenda of the International Federation, we also managed to include the Jiu-Jitsu for the first time in Asian Games (ASIAD) 2018 in Jakarta as the result of the great achievements made at the Asian Beach Games at Thailand.

Fahad Ali Al Shamsi stressed that the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation has no limits to achieve success and aims every day to put a new brick in the building of a strong and powerful generation and we are confident that we will succeed in our mission because we always look towards the first place.

He added: we take care of all players of different ages, and luckily we are making achievements both on the local and international level, which always proves we are moving in the right direction, we will spare no effort in providing an appropriate environment for the development levels of the game in the UAE in accordance to the global rates.
